A study in geological time, this miniature vessel features the signature banded clay of our Strata collection. The exterior mimics the sedimentary layers of the Front Range, offering a warm, matte tactility. Inside, a pale aqua celadon glaze provides a cool, glossy contrast.

Hand-thrown in our Boulder, Colorado studio using mixed stoneware clays.

The traditional celadon interior is designed to develop a fine network of crackles (crazing) over time, slowly deepening the visual texture of the glaze. It is perfectly sized to cradle a single air plant, a succulent cutting, or a dry bud. We recommend hand washing to preserve.

Because this item is hand-thrown and marbled, no two are ever exactly alike. Variations in the clay bands and form are not defects—they are the beautiful evidence of the handmade process. The piece you receive will be the only one of its kind in existence.

Care Instructions

• Handwashing is best. For a long-lasting finish, and especially for pieces with unglazed clay, we recommend washing by hand using a gentle, non-abrasive detergent.

• Dishwasher safe. While our pieces are dishwasher safe, we suggest using a gentle cycle and arranging items so they won't touch to prevent chips or cracks.

• Microwave safe. You can use your ceramic in the microwave, but avoid sudden temperature changes. Never put a cold piece directly into a hot microwave, or a hot piece into cold water, as this can cause thermal shock.
