Manchester Born, Boulder Crafted
I am a "bird" from Manchester who traded pixels for clay. After thirty years designing digital products where the creation process lived mostly on screens, I needed a change. I missed the feeling of actually making something—to have my hands in the material and feel it push back. So, I walked away from the screen and launched Kleybird Ceramics, a small-batch pottery studio based in Boulder, Colorado.
Handmade Ceramics for Daily Life
Now, I work with clay to create functional pieces that ground you. My work lives somewhere between "perfectly minimal" and "wait, what's that detail?" Functional Pottery: Mugs, bowls, and dinnerware designed for your morning coffee or evening wind-down. Statement Pieces: Vases and sculptural objects whose entire job is to sit on a shelf and make you smile.
Modern Minimalist Style
Living in Colorado, the landscape works its way into every piece I make. The mountains here strip everything down to what matters: clean lines, functional beauty, and no fuss. That is the ethos behind Kleybird. Whether it is a wheel-thrown mug or a hand-built vase, every piece carries the fingerprints of a maker who loves the process. This is what coming back to craft looks like: less perfection, more connection.
