A study in contrast. This mug features the signature raw, sedimentary layers of our Strata collection at the base, grounding the piece in warm, tactile earth tones. The upper body and interior are dipped in a crisp, glossy white glaze. The clay’s natural iron content bleeds gently through this white surface, creating subtle atmospheric speckles reminiscent of a bird’s egg or vanilla bean.

Hand-thrown in our Boulder, Colorado studio using durable, iron-rich stoneware clay.

Designed for the daily ritual, it features a generous ear-shaped handle that fits three fingers comfortably. Fully dishwasher and microwave safe.

Because this item is hand-thrown and marbled, no two are ever exactly alike. Variations in the clay banding and form are not defects—they are the beautiful evidence of the handmade process. The piece you receive will be the only one of its kind in existence.

Care Instructions

‱ Handwashing is best. For a long-lasting finish, and especially for pieces with unglazed clay, we recommend washing by hand using a gentle, non-abrasive detergent.

‱ Dishwasher safe. While our pieces are dishwasher safe, we suggest using a gentle cycle and arranging items so they won't touch to prevent chips or cracks.

‱ Microwave safe. You can use your ceramic in the microwave, but avoid sudden temperature changes. Never put a cold piece directly into a hot microwave, or a hot piece into cold water, as this can cause thermal shock.
