Intensely tactile, this vessel features a raised, rhythmic surface that begs to be touched. The deep teal glaze breaks over each individual node, revealing the warm stoneware beneath and creating a depth of colour reminiscent of a sea urchin or seed pod. It is as much a sculptural object as it is a functional vase.

Hand-crafted in our Boulder, Colorado studio using durable stoneware clay.

Designed to hold a single dry stem or to stand alone as a curio on a shelf or mantle. While the clay is durable, we recommend rinsing this piece by hand to protect the intricate surface texture.

Because this item is hand-thrown and altered, no two are ever exactly alike. Variations in glaze and form are not defects—they are the beautiful evidence of the handmade process. The piece you receive will be the only one of its kind in existence.

Care Instructions

• Handwashing is best. For a long-lasting finish, especially for pieces with unglazed clay or celadon glazes, we recommend washing by hand using a gentle, non-abrasive detergent.

• Dishwasher safe. While our pieces are dishwasher safe, we suggest using a gentle cycle and arranging items so they won't touch to prevent chips or cracks.

• Microwave safe. You can use your ceramic in the microwave, but avoid sudden temperature changes. Never put a cold piece directly into a hot microwave, or a hot piece into cold water, as this can cause thermal shock.
